Tuesday Tutorial - No Glue Gift Boxes with Pax the Penguin

Yes its my (lilacanglia's) turn to do the Tuesday Tutorial over at The Character Cafe today,
so I chose something that might be handy with us all doing Christmas things.
I learnt this from the nice lady at my local craft shop.

It is a no glue required box, the materials you will need for this are -
2 sheets of paper, one is 11" x 11" for the base and the other is 11.5" x 11.5" this is the lid,
a bone folder would be helpful but not totally necessary, and Character Cafe digi images to decorate with. (these measurements will make a 4" finished box)
The folds on both lid and bottom of the box are the same.
fold the piece of paper in half, then undo and fold in half the other way as well,
so you have a cross in the centre.
Then take one corner and fold so it meets the middle,
repeat this for all 4 corners.
Leave these folded in, then take one side and fold that to the middle like shown below.
and then the opposite side,
unfold these two, and repeat the same on the other two sides.
Unfold all, should look like the photo below.
then fold two side in like show in this photo below,
and after that fold the edges in and one of the triangles to look like picture below,

do this to the other end as well and your finished result should look like this box below.

Do exactly same for the lid, but remember the lid needs to be 11.5" x 11.5" so when folded it is slightly bigger hence why it is the lid.
I then coloured Pax The Penguin digi image from The Character Cafe 4 times in all for these two boxes, and stuck (this is the only time you need glue) on the lids and inside the bases of the boxes. I think these will make great gift boxes for all kinds of goodies for Christmas.

Please leave a link here on The Character Cafe, look forward to seeing your boxes.

You can also do different size as long as you start with a square and remember to add half a inch to the lid square.

Thank you for stopping by, have fun creating,
have a happy day,
