Tuesday Tutorial - Side Step Card

For today's Tutorial, I have choose to do a side step card,
Above you can see the diagrams how to do it,
I found this on the internet but in my stupidity do not know where,
so if it is yours please let me know so I can give credit where it is due.
The supplies you need for this project are -
1 sheet of card measuring - 18cm x 26 cm
Scoring tool, and a ruler,
Toppers, Images and sentiments of your choice,
I choose two from the Character Cafe,
Craft knife to cut down long centre line.

I chose a lovely marble red card stock, measured out my score lines and my cut line
as in the diagram at the top of this post.(if you click on the diagram picture you will get a better view of the measurements)
then depending on which way you fold your score lines you can determine which side to have the
mountains.

I used my sakura and whisper pens to colours the cutie images in.
Peel offs for the sentiments on a darker red holographic card.

Thanks for stopping by,
Look forward to seeing your side step cards,
Hugs

Lauren Meader Joins us at TCC as a Guest Designer

Whoo hoo it's Friday!!!

We are so excited to have Lauren Meader join us this week as our Guest Designer for Feature Friday. Lauren is Owner/Designer of My Time Made Easy LLC and if you have never been to her site you have to go check out her stuff it's fabulous!!

Here's a little info about Lauren and My Time Made Easy.

"My name is Lauren Meader and I am the creator of My Time Made Easy™ LLC. I am just like you! Whether you are a business woman, stay at home mom, a working mom, or everyone in between, we all have the same things in common! Our free TIME (and often expendable income) is limited! Our daily lives are busy, and full of responsibilities. I have family to care for, a house to clean, meals to cook and that is just the first of many hats I need to wear daily. It can be hard to find "me" time. Many of us have so little time for ourselves these days, that we need to really maximize the time we do get to use, and make the most of it! That is where My Time Made Easy™ LLC comes in!"
"This entire venture started with a simple goal: Sharing what I love with the world!! I began papercrafting in 2004, while pregnant with my third child. I needed something for "me". Once I inked up that first stamp I fell in LOVE! It has gone from a hobby to a passion. I never would have thought after purchasing my ONE stamp, that it would lead me to where I am today!"

There's so much inspiration to be had by visiting Lauren's Blog, you won't regret it and you'll only come away with a gazillion things to add to your "to try" list!

Here is the amazing project Lauren created using her template - In a Pinch and Fairy Belle from TCC...

It's absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Much to our surprise, Lauren not only created the lovely In A Pinch Fairy gift box, but this fabulous card using the Sunflower digital image as well!

We just love them and hope you do too.

Now for our TCCFF #10 3D Challenge this week...

We would like you to use Lauren's Cutsie Cover template available for FREE (or any of her other templates) with any TCC digital image. If you don't have any of our digi's, don't worry, you can get one of our freebies here. The challenge is open until next Thurs. at 10pm EST.

The winner will receive our new Valentine Releases (there are 3 of them) as the prize. They'll also receive a 15% off Discount Coupon for The Character Cafe Store, a winner's badge for their blog and they'll be featured on our website with a link to their blog/gallery.

Our extremely talented Design Team has some more inspiration for you...these ladies make it look so easy...

and Piali did up another using one of our new releases...

Lastly, Kelly and I took part this week (she coloured, I pieced) and created this set for inspiration... it's using our new image Robbie Racoon as well as the 4Evah Set (that's one of the freebies for you... click here if you want to download it from 4shared, or you can go to the store freebies section)...

We really want to thank Lauren for joining us this week for Feature Friday and hope she can come back and Guest Design for us again sometime!!

So hurry and go checkout Lauren's templates and get crafting your 3D project for our challenge.

Make sure if you are posting it on SCS, PCP or SNR, you use TCCFF10 so we can find you!

Tek Tuesday with Meredith! All-In-One 4 Tag Card!!

Good Morning All!! So sorry for the delay in this post but I was up WAY too late last night creating to be able to coherently write properly!

I have a SUPER easy peasy and FUN tutorial to show you!! I call it the All-In-One 4 Tag Card! I have to thank my friend Joanne B. for showing me how to do this in what seems like 100 years ago when she used to run SU! workshops. So here is that example from the workshop that was my muse for this piece. You need a 12x12 piece of cardstock and any decorative images, elements, papers that you'd like. You can really frill this baby up or keep it trim, clean and simple. Either way it'll look fab!

Score your 12" cardstock at 3", 6", and 9" respectively. Creating 4 equal sections. I've used Doodlebug Designs - Sugar Coated Cardstock that I picked up during a recent trip to The Paper Source (YUM!).

Next, trim your cardstock down to 5".I kind of eyeballed the corners as you can tell by my sketching. If you tend to be more precise you can obviously make this an equal measurement if you like but the eyeball technique works pretty well ;)

After trimming the corners (which I did simply with scissors), I again, eyeballed the center of the "tag" and punched through all 4 layers while folded together with my Big Bite.
When you open it up you will see 4 tags together similar to paper dolls!
Now all you need is to decorate! Really! It's THAT easy! I chose to use 3 different images today!! I used Cupcake Rosebud, Turtle Love, and the Love Conquers (colored in MS Paint) sentiment. I resized them all in MS Paint, printed them out, colored them with a variety of my Copics and Prismacolor markers, Souffle Pens, and Sakura Sparkly pens.
Once my images were colored, I matted them with a shiny red cardstock...also from The Paper Source. I adhered them to the tags with foam pop-dots. I then used my SU! 3/4" circle punch to create hole re-enforcers in order to thread my ribbon through at the top of the tags. You'd be surprised that even on really heavy cardstock how quickly you can tear through the punched holes if you pull the ribbon too tightly. So I used the most adorable DP from Imaginescence to create these. I punched them out...adhered them over the holes and punched through again. I added 4 different ribbons to the tops of my tags. The last tag I left blank for my sentiment and simply tied a heart covered ribbon so that it didn't look blank.
You must run to The Cafe's Shoppe to see all of the ADORABLE images that are now available for Valentine's Day!!!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial for today!!

Have a great week and thanks for visiting!!

XOXO-
Meredith
